Do you also get excited about reducing a CO2 footprint, combating child labour in complex value chains and European environmental legislation? And do you believe that improving the world is not so much a matter of talking, but mainly of doing? Then we are looking for you! As an ESG consultant at Empact, you work together with our clients on a more sustainable, fairer and better future.
Your role in brief
As an ESG Consultant at Empact, you make a difference for our clients in the field of ecological, social and governance issues. You analyse performance, advise at a strategic level and, together with the client, ensure that your plans are implemented by the entire organization. This requires not only sound professional knowledge of Sustainability, ESG, CSRD, CSR and CSDDD, but also the necessary communication skills. After all, people are creatures of habit, and change does not happen automatically. That makes your role challenging. But you are certainly not alone: you will work with us in a team of experienced and enthusiastic ESG professionals. A large number of these experienced ESG professionals are affiliated with Empact as independent contractors. In addition, there is a core team, which you will be part of.
We are Empact
Empact is a boutique consultancy firm in the field of ESG. We advise both large companies and government agencies on all aspects of ESG transformation. We do this based on a systematic and proven ESG advisory approach, in combination with smart project and change management tools. What we find important is that our clients have genuine sustainable ambitions. You will therefore never participate in greenwashing with us. On the contrary: we see it as our role to enable clients to make a real sustainable impact themselves. In this way, we accelerate the sustainable transition and make the world a little better every day.
This is how you will make an impact
- Client advice: You map out the ESG needs of clients and help them develop tailor-made ESG strategies and objectives.
- Implementation: You help clients implement strategies and objectives.
- ESG assessment: You perform detailed ESG assessments and audits to determine an organization’s current performance on environmental, social and governance issues.
- Data analysis: You collect and analyse ESG data and KPIs to identify trends and prepare reports.
- Stakeholder engagement: You ensure that stakeholders, such as investors, shareholders and regulators, become (and remain) involved and report on progress.
- Sustainability reporting: You support the preparation of sustainability reports and statements that comply with international standards and regulations.
- Risk assessment: You identify and evaluate ESG-related risks and opportunities for clients and develop appropriate strategies to address them.
- Research and trends: You keep up to date with the latest developments in ESG, regulations, practice and trends, so that you can proactively advise clients.
This is what you bring
- A deep-rooted awareness that the world is in transition to get the skewed proportions right again and the inner strength to work on this.
- A master’s degree in a relevant field. And often there are many fields of expertise that are relevant, so not only the economic but also technical and social masters can be a good fit.
- Knowledge of ESG principles, international guidelines and best practices.
- Broad knowledge of relevant regulations, in particular with regard to CSRD and CSDDD.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to reduce complex problems to their essence.
- You have excellent communication and presentation skills, so that you can collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams.
- Self-starter, not afraid to take the plunge.
- 3 to 5 years of work experience, preferably as a consultant.
- Fluent in Dutch and excellent command of the English language.
This is what we offer you
- Number of hours: 32 – 40 hours per week.
- Fixed salary between € 3,000 – € 4,000 gross based on work experience.
- Holiday and pension contribution.
- 24 paid vacation days per year (based on 40 hours) and the possibility of unpaid leave
Work location
At Empact, we mainly work location-independent. So you will do a lot of work from home or at the customer’s location. We also expect you to be at the Empact office in Haarlem at least 1 day a week.
