The workshop is designed for category managers, team leads and staff of the procurement and supply chain management departments who have basic knowledge in ESG/CSR in procurement and supply chain management. The workshop is also of interest to general managers and ESG/CSR in-house staff who would like to understand better ESG in the value chain and the company-wide implications.

This one-day workshop is the second module in your journey to integrate ESG in your procurement and supply chain management activities.
There are multiple ways to drive positive change through responsible and sustainable procurement, but what should you focus on if you face various social, environmental and governance challenges? How do you define the material objectives and how will these be implemented when and by whom? Empact will guide your staff on your individual approach and thereby create the change you envisage.
Under the guidance of Empact consultants, your procurement and supply chain team will define the individual and tailored approach for your business. We will help you to establish your specific procurement ESG focus based on your industry, stakeholder interests, resources and maturity. By including the responsible staff right from the beginning, they will develop a sense of ownership that will be pivotal for the necessary changes and actions. We guide – you create!
After finishing the workshop you will have documented and actionable to-dos for the activation of ESG in your procurement and supply chain activities, i.e., defined ESG objectives for your business, procurement levers, and an overview of applicable standards.
We will work closely with the participants to enable them to define the right ESG direction for your procurement and supply chain set-up and to define material objectives. To get an understanding of how to apply the gained knowledge in practice, we will conduct specific exercises during the workshop:
- Prioritising the sustainability topics depending on impact, and customers’ and stakeholders’ interests.
- Supply chain mapping for one of your key products.
- Brainstorming on the potential procurement levers to address the selected topic.
- Discussing potential obstacles and how to overcome these.
- Connecting the mandatory and voluntary frameworks with your business (e.g., CSDDD, CSRD, OECD Guidelines).
The workshop will also trigger conversations among the participants who probably would not in day-to-day work discuss this topic in a structured and guided way. The different perspectives on this will add valuable insights into how to tackle ESG. After finishing the workshop you will have documented and actionable to-dos for your business.
Prior to the workshop, our consultants will have a briefing call with your company’s contact for this topic to understand your motivation, objectives, status quo and discuss the ideal round of participants. You will also be asked to fill in a questionnaire on your status on ESG procurement and supply chain management that will be analysed and discussed at the workshop.
