Empact conducted an evaluation study for the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate (EZK) on the application of International Corporate Social Responsibility (IMVO) in some fourteen business instruments. The Dutch government wants companies operating in the Netherlands and doing business abroad to engage in international corporate social responsibility. The main question that EZK had was: in what way can EZK contribute to the Dutch business community using EZK instruments (such as subsidies) to do business in an internationally socially responsible way. The Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO), conducted a pilot on setting IMVO requirements for companies. Empact has evaluated this pilot and the report that has been made about it will be sent to the Lower House.
“As a client, I am very satisfied with the final result. It has become a valuable report. Empact’s people are experts in the field of IMVO, the OECD guidelines and due diligence. Not only do they have substantive knowledge of relevant legislation and international treaties, they also place this in context. Empact has engaged EZK and RVO well. Through their contacts with companies, their views also made their way extensively into the report. The Ministry of Economic Affairs will take this evaluation report with recommendations into further policy development.
I experienced the cooperation as very pleasant. A professional and structured approach, with clear intermediate results and coordination moments. The planning was met even to the day. The method of progressing step by step and the frequent consultations with me as the client ensured that I remained involved and was in a position to make adjustments if necessary. The balance between digital and physical consultations was also good.
I enjoy keeping in touch with the people at Empact and highly recommend them.”
Peter Veenhoven, Senior policy officer for IMVO, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate.
