Martin de Jong leads a workshop on sustainability and AI on November 19

Attention to sustainability seems to be fading, while the need to act is only growing. That tension is the theme of “De val van duurzaamheid (of toch niet?)” (The fall of sustainability, or not?), an event by Stichting Positieve Impact on Thursday, November 19, 2026, at Flint Theater in Amersfoort. Martin de Jong, founder and strategic ESG advisor at Empact, will lead the workshop “Voorbij de dip: waar staat jouw organisatie, en welke rol speelt AI” (Beyond the dip: where does your organization stand, and what role does AI play).

Why this theme fits our work

In our view, sustainability is under pressure because organizations get stuck in their own stage of maturity. At the same time, AI is often used to work faster and more efficiently, without rethinking the underlying direction: well-being, meaning, people. That matches how we look at sustainability: as a transformation, with the focus on the people within organizations, who are the ones making the change happen.

What you do in the workshop

Organizational development and AI are usually told as two separate stories. In this workshop, we bring them together. You discover where your organization stands now, what your next step is, and whether AI genuinely helps or mostly speeds up what you were already doing. It is meant for anyone working on sustainability or impact who wants to know how to move forward, AI included. Read how we guide organizations through such change on our ESG implementation page.

Positieve Impact’s afternoon program runs from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., followed by drinks. Speakers include comedian Tim Fransen, Berthold Gunster (founder of Omdenken) and Rodney van den Hengel (co-founder of Heilige Boontjes). The day also features the final of the MVO Manager van het Jaar 2026 award (CSR Manager of the Year): three nominees pitch and visitors vote. The afternoon also offers eight workshops of up to an hour each.
