Your role in brief
As an ESG Consultant at Empact, you will make a difference for our clients on environmental, social and governance issues. You analyze performance, advise at the strategic level and, together with the client, ensure that your plans are implemented throughout the organization. This requires from you not only a solid professional knowledge in the field of ESG, CSRD, CSR and CSDD, among others, but also the necessary communication skills. After all, humans are creatures of habit, and change does not happen by itself. That makes your role challenging. But you are certainly not alone: with us, you work in a team of experienced and enthusiastic ESG professionals. Many of these experienced ESG professionals are self-employed with Empact. There is also a core team, which you will be part of.

This is how you will make an impact
- Client consulting: You will identify clients’ ESG needs help them develop customized ESG strategies and goals.
- Implementation: You help clients implement strategies and goals.
- ESG Assessment: You will conduct detailed ESG assessments and audits to determine an organization’s current performance on environmental, social and governance issues.
- Data Analysis: You will collect and analyze ESG data and KPIs to identify trends and prepare reports.
- Stakeholder engagement: You ensure that stakeholders, (think investors, shareholders and regulators) get (and stay) involved and report on progress.
- Sustainability Reporting: You will support the preparation of sustainability reports and reports that comply with international standards and regulations.
- Risk Assessment: You will identify and evaluate ESG-related risks and opportunities for clients and develop appropriate strategies to address them.
- Research and trends: You will stay abreast of the latest developments in ESG, regulations, practice and trends so that you can proactively advise clients.
This is what you bring
- A deep-rooted awareness that the world is in transition to get the skewed relationships right again and the inner strength to participate in this.
- A master’s degree in a relevant field. And often many fields are relevant, so not only economics but also engineering and social sciences masters can fit.
- Knowledge of ESG principles, international guidelines and best practices.
- Broad knowledge of relevant regulations, particularly with respect to CSRD and CSDDD/IMVO.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to reduce complex problems to their essence.
- You have excellent communication and presentation skills, allowing you to work effectively with clients and internal teams.
- Self-starter, not afraid to jump into the deep end.
- 3 to 10 years of work experience, preferably as a consultant.
- Fluent in Dutch and excellent command of English.
This is what we offer you
- Number of hours: 32 – 40 hours per week.
- Fixed salary between €3,000 – €6,000 gross based on work experience.
- Vacation and pension contribution.
- 24 paid vacations per year (based on 40 hours) and the possibility of unpaid leave
Work Location
At Empact, we work primarily on-site-only. You will do a lot of work from home or at the client’s location. In addition, we expect you to spend at least 1 day per week at the Empact office in Haarlem.
